3D Modeling, 3D Rendering and Materials

Rendering turns a mathematical representation of a three-dimensional object into a two-dimensional image. Whether it is to create photorealistic 2D images or purposefully stylized ones, the process of rendering I adapted involves creating 3D polygon models of the objects, texturing those objects, and adding light to the scene.

3D modeling: I use Alias or Rhino software in this step to create digital models or scenes to render them in rendering software.

Texturing: In this step, I use KeyShot or V-Ray to map the surface texture within the 3D scene or 3D object. My experience working with high-quality textures tells me that applying the appropriate ones is key to any photorealistic 3D rendered images.

Lighting: This rendering stage involves using software algorithms to simulate natural or professional light sources. Depending on the goal of the visualization, I use intensity and color to create a particular mood and atmosphere.

Refining: After the rendering is complete, I fine-tune the image's appearance by bringing it into Photoshop for additional editing.
